Boiling Temperatures in Southern Spain and across the country in general, are said to rise even further by the end of this week due to a heatwave rising up from the North of Africa.
41 of 50 Spanish Provinces have been issues extreme weather warnings with temperatures upwards of 45C.
The World Meteorological Organisation said Europe’s record is 48C in Athens, Greece in 1977. That being said, consistently year in year out, in the centre of Murcia City, we often see a couple of days where temperatures are recorded at 50C+, due to the residual heat from the roads, building and the cities own microclimate.
This time of year most of the Southern regions will have their firefighters on standby due to high risk of forest fires so please be careful not to leave anything lying around that could easily ignite in high temperatures.
